Amber Paul is the founder of Yoga For Actors, a system that teaches performers of all types how to overcome audition and performance anxiety through the freeing practice of yoga and meditation. Amber’s style of teaching embraces the individual, acknowledges the moment, and encourages joyful expression.
As owner of a thriving private yoga practice based in New York, Amber works with clients ranging from opera singers to corporate executives. She is a certified vinyasa yoga instructor and a Yoga Alliance-registered teacher.
Amber is currently a professor of yoga at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a guest lecturer in the graduate program at Fordham University. She also teaches in the Corporate Division at Sonic Yoga, where she received her 200-hour certification under the guidance of Jonathan Fields. In addition to being the resident instructor at Broadway Dance Center, she has taught at The Chopra Center and Club H Fitness. Amber has been on the faculty of Three Sisters Yoga since its inception in 2009 as a Yoga Alliance certification program designed for creative professionals.
Amber believes that meditation is for everyone, and has worked extensively to integrate its practices within the daily life of her community. One of her special gifts as an instructor is introducing yoga and meditation to first-time practitioners. She taught the inaugural 8-week Yoga for Absolute Beginners Workshop at Broadway Dance, recently started a donation-based community meditation class at The Yoga Collective NYC, and also volunteered her services for the Dress for Success 6th Annual Diversity Career Fair. Amber has taught weekly guided meditation at multiple NYC locations since 2008.
