This month’s topic: Fear & Anxiety: How to Mindfully address difficult emotions
Sometimes, when our carefully constructed lives begin to fall apart, for example, if we should lose or get fired from our job, go through a break-up or divorce, if we experience a chronic disease, it is easy for us to judge and consider ourselves failures.
This self-judgment creates a sense of unworthiness and drives us into a trance of disconnection and isolation.
Distracted by our negative self-talk and judgment, we are unable to recognize the raw pain of our emotions, which is necessary in order to fully heal.
In this class, we will gently address our pain and anxiety through the artful practice of “inquiry and naming”.
Learning to question ourselves in a friendly and loving way can be foreign for many of us.
In this class, we will practice moments of meditation as well as interactive exercises to expand our awareness and to use inquiry and naming as pragmatic tools.
Naming, noting and inquiry are tools of traditional mindfulness practice that we can apply when we’re lost and fearful.
Join us and begin your own gentle inquiry around fear and anxiety surrounded by a mindful tribe of seekers also looking for answers. My intention is to create a sacred and safe space for all to attend and befriend themselves and others.
All are welcome!
