Set yourself apart in the field of Corrective Yoga

This unique and insightful course integrates yoga, thai bodywork and movement therapy. Our collaborative approach addresses structural problems caused by daily behaviors and habits, offering hands on tools that you can use in classes and private yoga settings.

You will learn how to guide students via adjustments, verbal cues, and integrated prop work. These tools will help you treat individual students for common physical maladies.

Please note that this course is designed for 200-RYT graduates. It is open to certified 200 hour graduates or certified body workers.

We can only meet people in our power, if we can embody that power. When we are not clear about our purpose, we can often feel frightened, frustrated and even depressed. In this course we will work together to help find our true voice, our hidden nature.

Have you ever longed to know your true purpose and how to put that out in the world in a bold way? This course will marry the psychology of yoga with your daily life, in theory and in practice. We will look into your shadows to find what is stopping you from moving forward and owning your life’s purpose. Each week you will take both spiritual and physical actions to create an alignment between inner purpose and outer actions. Teaching  yoga for beginners is becoming a highly-sought after skill. As yoga becomes more popular and gains recognition in the media and the medical field, more and more people are coming to class and hiring private instructors for a variety of reasons. Open level classes are intimidating and risky for beginners, as students may have little to no knowledge of how to use their body. Frankly, basic classes are just not that basic. Where can a student go to gain clear and safe understanding of how an asana is meant to be done?

Working one-on-one and being able to see what a student is missing–and how to bring a pose together–requires a lot of skill. Teaching the basics requires you to have a solid understanding of how the body moves, as well as the elements of each asana, so you can teach it in components as well as in entirety. Teaching your students the basics from a well-thought out and experienced perspective gives them a safe and encouraging point of entry.

Experience the difference between consciousness and awareness with Shyamji Bhatnagar, master of sound and chakra psychology and author of Micro Chakras and the director of Chakra Institute. Born and raised in India, Sri Shyamji Bhatnagar is a true master. At age 12, he met his spiritual teacher in the Himalayas and spent several years under his guidance. This foundational course is open to certified yoga, pilates, fitness, and movement instructors. In this 40 Hour Training, you will learn a 90-minute Traditional Thai Bodywork sequence to include in your private practice, expand your understanding of energetic and physical healing, and enhance your knowledge of human movement, structural alignment and intuitive touch. Thai Yoga Bodywork is an ancient art form of energy-line (sen) stimulation, supported stretching, acupressure, deep-tissue release, and therapeutic touch that brings openness and relaxation to the body. Thai Yoga Bodywork is an integrative approach to health, combining breath, yoga asana and mindfulness meditation of Metta (loving compassion) into a flowing dance of continuous rhythmic motion. TYM works on the energy lines and points that bring physical, mental and emotional bodies to balance and harmonize all the systems in the body.

What’s Involved:

  • Preparation of the body with warm-ups, breathing techniques and metta meditation.
  • Working within your own yoga practice and scope of movement to partner up and share a reciprocal dance of loving kindness, movement, and breath.
  • Introduction to the foundations of Thai Yoga (meditation in movement) and the principles of healing touch: correct postural alignment for giver, leverage and weight, connected breath, and delivering of intention through touch.
  • Learn a Thai Yoga sequence (approximately 1hr 30min).  This sequence is designed to restore basic flexibility, increase range of movement and balance the flow of energy.

In this Foundational Course, you will learn:

  • How to work on the floor, practicing your yoga and using leverage to deliver precise and connected bodywork.

Description: This course is an immersion into the Sanskrit language through the study of the Sanskrit alphabet, asana names, select mantras, and Luminous Soul Meditation principles.

Corporate yoga and meditation programs have gotten incredible media coverage and measurable results. As an alternative to studio classes, we offer corporate programs throughout the city; this is a great time to build your skills and be apart of this mindful movement.

This course will teach you how to conduct a perfect class for those in the corporate world. You will learn how to address some of the common work place mis-alignments, as well as offer a sequence to build postural awareness and provide ergonomic tools for maintaining a healthy body and mind.  You will learn how to use chairs as props and work in non-traditional environments.  The course will emphasize chair yoga for advanced and gentle classes, kundalini breathing and work place meditation.   Through lecture, group discussion, student practicum and hands-on experience, you will learn how to infuse relaxation and peace into the workday.

The Franklin Method uses dynamic imagery, anatomical embodiment and educational skills to create lasting positive change in your body and mind. The Franklin Method was founded by Eric Franklin in 1994 and is taught all over the world, including the Universities of Vienna, Cologne, Karlsruhe and the Juilliard School in New York. The Franklin Method is recognized by the health providers in Switzerland and is a regularly seen at Dance, Pilates, Yoga and Physiotherapy conferences.

One of the greatest discoveries of the 21st century is the plasticity of the brain; the idea that the life we live shapes our brain. The Franklin Method is at the forefront of practical neuro-plasticity–demonstrating how to use the brain to improve bodily function. This method teaches you how to harness the transformative power of the mind, starting with the knowledge that we have the power to change things in and around us.

Physically, the Franklin Method teaches dynamic alignment and how to move your body with maximum efficiency. The whole body is part of a symphony of coordinated movement and, in a sense, your posture is reinvented at every instant. In every moment, the ideal combination of movement between limbs, joints, gravity, connective tissue, and muscle is attempted, and can be achieved, by your brain and nervous system.

This 25 hour program is a blend of powerful lessons on business techniques for the personal coach, yoga teacher, or the health/wellness entrepreneur.  This course will help you build a strong framework for thriving practice!  Throughout the program, we will teach you about marketing, strategy, developing a unique voice, and the ways in which you can build a successful yoga and coaching business.

To take this course, you must have completed a coaching program, have certifications, or created your own innovative method.  Perhaps you’ve even done some paid coaching or teaching, have a few clients and are planning your first retreat – and you love it – but the idea of filling your practice with clients that pay you well is somewhat overwhelming. You just don’t know how to make your finances match your passion– and that’s where we come in.

50 Hours: Yin and Meditation of the Senses

The awareness of Yin Yoga has risen in recent years due to its ability to address modern-day problems including stress, anxiety, muscular tension, pain, joint stiffness, limited range of motion, and distraction. Yin Yoga is literally a practice of stillness, and is a complement to a more active (yang) yoga practice. Ying doesn’t replace an active practice, but is a complement to physical flows as well as an ally in meditation practice. Our 25-hour Yin Yoga & Meditation training will prepare you to teach Yin Yoga and Meditation.

The training will include:

  • An overview of Yin & Yang concepts.
  • Lessons in the anatomy of tension & compression.
  • An overview of anatomical structure, including tissues that are targeted via the Yin practice and how to safely and effectively stimulate these tissues, the physiology of connective tissue (CT) or fascia, production of hyaluronic acid, and principles including contracture and joint fixation
  • Teachings on the Meridian & Five Elements Theory, including where the meridians are located, which postures stimulate them, and the elemental correspondences between meridians and major organs.
  • Learning specific postures in a Yin fashion, as well as ways to modify existing traditional postures or create new postures.
  • Lessons in anatomical differences, injury, trauma, and other considerations to look out for as a teacher of Yin Yoga
  • Studies on structuring a Yin Yoga class and how to teach basic meditation.
  • How to create and guide themed meditations, including finding inspiration for meditation topics.
  • An overview of brain science and mindfulness.

The Yin Yoga Practice naturally evolves towards meditation. As Yogis, our effort on the path goes towards an understanding of the nature of the mind. Yin Yoga spontaneously brings us closer to this understanding. The calm and relaxed approach allows the practitioner to merge with ease and breath awareness. The Asanas are mainly designed to open the lower body which enables oneself to sit for longer periods of time, with less discomfort and more ease; Yin prepares the body to step into the field of meditation.

Practice :
Friday Evening 2 hours Yin & Yang Yoga class the Tao of Yoga : This Class will be a perfect blend between strength and softness, using Taoist movement to challenge the Yogis balance, coordination and strength followed by a smooth transition towardYin poses cooling and slowing down the practice to a point of stillness. Leaving the practitioner into a relaxed state of mind.

This Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training course offers the skills to:

  • teach prenatal and postnatal yoga

Basic curriculum

  • Anatomical and physiological changes during pregnancy and how it relates to yoga
  • Appropriate Asanas (Poses) and Pranayama (Breathwork)
  • Contra-indicated poses during pregnancy
  • Asana modifications for pregnancy
  • How to use props to help modify asanas for pregnancy
  • Principles of alignment
  • Understanding of the pelvic floor muscles for ALL women
  • Explantion of fetal positions. What poses are beneficial and what poses should be avoided during later pregnancy
  • Common discomforts of pregnancy and how to work with them using Asana and Thai massage

Partner yoga and Massage Techniques 

  • This will include flowing yoga sequences, restorative postures, and massage designed to teach fathers, partners, or friends how to help with the discomforts of pregnancy and labor.
  • A prenatal yoga teacher’s responsibilities and boundaries
  • Postnatal yoga – rebuilding the pregnant body, including poses to discourage and encourage
  • Practice teaching prenatal yoga classes
  • Discussion of current childbirth practices in our country

As spiritual beings, we can’t meet anyone in our power if we can’t define that power. When we are not clear about our purpose, we can often feel frightened, frustrated and even depressed.  In this course we will work together to help find our true voice, our hidden nature. Once we find our “blueprint for life”  -what the Yoga Sutras referred  to as our Dharma- we will begin to bring it into the flow and meaning of our lives . Once we begin to live in alignment with who we really are (not who we think we should be) we often find or sustain clear and healthy relationships with our students, friends, family, and our beloved.

“Is there a timeline for the course?” There is no fixed timeline or deadline for the course. You can sign up whenever you want, watch the classes as it works for your schedule, ask Leslie questions and get answers on your own time, and finish the homework whenever it fits in your schedule. We wanted this course to be as flexible as possible because we have so many students enrolled from all over the world, and there’s really not a one-size-fits-all structure.

“How much homework is there? What kind of weekly time commitment am I looking at?” As discussed above, you can go through the course at your own pace. If you’d like to finish the course in the 9-month time frame that Leslie uses to teach the live class, here’s what it would look like: – One 2-hour video class per week – plus optional homework, consisting mostly of review questions and additional activities to help enhance the learning experience. Most of our graduates say the homework took them 30-60 minutes per week. The classes are structured in three 12-week trimesters for a total of 36 weeks, and there is a short break between each trimester (like a holiday break and spring break.)

“Sometimes things get “lost in translation” on the internet. How do you guys handle that?” We agree! That’s why we have made the interface as personal as possible, and we have just added a new feature for this round of the course. Payment and Cancellation

Payment Policies:

  • A deposit is required to hold your space: half of the course fee.
  • To receive an early registration discount, full payment must be received eight weeks prior to first session.
  • Full payment must be received prior to first session.
  • Enrollment is by full cost of session. There is no pro-rated enrollment for partial attendance.

Student Cancellation Policies: 

  • Up to 14 days before course – receive CREDIT to be applied to future Teacher Training. Not applicable for classes, workshops, or retreats. Deposit minus a $30 processing fee
  • Less than 14 days before – No refunds or credits.

Course Cancellation Policy:

  • All courses require a minimum number of students. If this number is not reached with 6 weeks of the course Reflections reserves the right postpone/adjust the course. In case of this all deposits will be returned.

Post-Program Attendance:

  • Once you have taken 300-hour ATT courses, you can repeat courses you have taken at no cost, and for an unlimited time – space allowing, at the discretion of the teacher, as long as the course is offered in NYC.

Single Class Policies:
