With over thirty years of experience as a counselor and yoga teacher, Paula has established a successful private practice that provides tailored services and programs to individuals, couples, as well as corporate clients.

An enthusiastic explorer of life, Paula has taken all that she has learned about the mind, body and, yes, the soul studying with teachers across the globe and woven these teachings into her unique methodology and vision. Her approach recognizes that body and mind need to be integrated in the soul's journey towards self-realization. To this end, she has distilled ancient practices and modern insights to create an accessible and loving guide to fulfilling this multidimensional life. Through her knowledge and experience, Paula aims to support every seeker to overcome negative patterns and achieve a life of wholeness and joy here and now.

Personal Development Coaching With Paula Tursi

Paula’s personal development coaching is primarily a transpersonal and somatic experience; bringing together the body and mind while creating a vision for each client to return to a place of wholeness. Her sessions are grounded in the principles of Yogic philosophy and she uses Yogic psychology as a lens through which to understand each individual’s unique qualities. 

Paula has studied psychology and Yoga philosophy in depth, and relies upon the insights and inner transformation that the practice of Yoga, meditation and hypnosis have brought her. These practices are the foundation of her work. With clients, Paula skillfully applies these elements as a guide in her transformational coaching, helping people move out of patterns of self-sabotage, depression, anxiety and the like while connecting them to their particular life path. 

She has worked with issues that include relationship and work struggles, parenting, addiction, anxiety, depression, and entheogenic (psychedelic) integration. 

What to expect

Paula believes that trauma is contained in the many layers of who we are. Because of this, her methods are varied.Techniques that may be used during the session include: Generative Trance, Vortex Healing, movement, breathing and meditation.

 “Sometimes talk therapy is not as helpful as perhaps tapping the unconscious or working with blocked energy. Ultimately, we are working on places we are blind to or blocked from. We have all we need, we just don't always have access to it.”

Each session begins with an open dialogue that helps to determine your wants, needs, and obstacles. Sessions then proceed towards pinpointing your most relevant life problems and we address them on a physical, energetic, emotional and spiritual level.

What is Generative Trance?

This practice focuses on reaching a generative state, which is a high level of mind/body relaxation, concentration and fluid mental flexibility. The generative state allows for a creative response to whatever challenges exist, and a deep connection to positive resources beyond a personal ego state. Once trance is achieved, you will focus on maintaining this state throughout the session, so that new and meaningful change can occur.

Generative Trance allows transformation to occur at the deepest level of identity, where your core beliefs and inner impressions exist. Mind/body approaches are used to help transform the way you think, feel, respond, and create in every aspect of your life.

What is Vortex Healing?

Vortex Healing is an ancient and multifaceted energetic healing art that facilitates release of emotional and mental blockages, stemming from the deepest levels of ancestral, genetic and karmic imprinting. It channels frequencies and light to clear and heal the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. In doing so, we rejuvenate the flow of life force energy to the spine, kundalini and meridians.

Working with this ancient healing art is a personal journey into the heart. It will allow you to regain your natural spiritual balance and a keen awareness of your true self, your environment, your relationships and more.

Qualifications

Paula Tursi received her Master degree in Education from Hunter College and studied Psychology at Columbia University. She has done her clinical post-graduate training at the Milton H. Erickson Society for Psychotherapy and Hypnosis, and with Stephen Gilligan in the practice of Generative Trance hypnosis.

Paula Tursi is a certified 500 Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance.  She has been named one of Well + Good's Top 5 Meditation Teachers, and she is a contributing author on the book Happy Gut with Dr. Vincent Pedre.

Paula offers yoga, meditation and Life Design Therapy as a way to facilitate structure, guidance and a more conscious lifestyle.
